Dunedin, Let’s Create Something Special for Our Kids
When we heard the Dunedin Weet-Bix TRYathlon wasn’t coming back, we felt what a lot of local families felt: disappointment. For years it had been one of those events kids counted down to — a morning of nerves, cheering, muddy shoes and enormous finish-line smiles.
So instead of watching a much-loved tradition quietly disappear, we asked a simple question: why not build a new one? That’s how the MYHUB Kids Triathlon was born — a brand-new community event hosted by MYHUB Holiday Parks.
What it’s all about
We’ll be upfront: this isn’t about making a profit. The goal is much simpler.
- See hundreds of Dunedin kids smiling.
- Encourage healthy, active lifestyles from a young age.
- Bring our community together for a morning worth remembering.
- Create a fun annual event that Otago families can look forward to, year after year.
A triathlon might sound serious, but this one is anything but. It’s about having a go, giving it your best, and crossing the finish line — whether that’s first or last. Every child gets the same cheer, the same medal, and the same “I did it” moment.
